How To Find Your Fit

When buying a pair of Ferrini boots, try them on with the socks you would normally wear and take them for a stroll on a carpeted surface.

New boots should fit snugly at the instep, arch and ball of the foot. Your toes should have a little wiggle room inside the toe box. Be careful not to get too big a size, because the leather will soften and stretch a skosh over time. Western boots should initially slip a little bit in the heel, typically about ¼- to ½-inch. This slippage will disappear as your boots flex and conform to the shape of your feet.

If you require a wide width and none are available, try a regular width boot one half-size larger.

Measurement Tips

Please note, the following is a guideline only for determining your recommended size and not a fit guarantee.

Measure both feet. Some people have one foot slightly larger than the other. Choose the size that fits the larger of the two.

Consider the socks you’ll wear most often with your boots. For thicker socks, or if you prefer to add a comfort insole, you may want to order boots a half size larger than you normally wear.

Measure your feet in the afternoon, when feet tend to be their largest.

How To Measure

Place or tape a large piece of paper on the floor.

Using a pencil or pen, trace both feet on the paper. Draw a straight line at the top of the toe and the bottom of the heel for each foot outline.

With a measuring tape, measure the length in inches between these straight lines for each foot. This is your foot length. Using the larger of your two feet, find your foot length on the chart below to determine boot size. Remember, this is a guideline, not an exact size.

Care Instructions

The four steps for proper boot care are: CLEAN, CONDITION, POLISH & PROTECT.

Clean

Dirt and dust are leather’s worst enemies. A simple wipe down with a damp cloth now and then can prevent dirt and dust from cutting away at the microscopic fibers that make leather strong and durable.

Condition

Condition leather only when it is clean and dry so the conditioner can penetrate through the pores and keep leather soft and pliable. Lanolin-based conditioners are best. Oils and waxes attract dust and, if used too much, can clog the pores causing the leather to dry out.

Polish

Rejuvenate boots by applying a cream based polish. This will cover scratches and result in a more glossy finish. Only boots that have a smooth, finished surface can be polished (not suede or rawhide).

Protect

For longer life, protect your Ferrini boots with a non-silicone water and stain protector.

Caring For Exotics

(Alligator, Caiman, Kangaroo, Lizard, Ostrich, Python)

  • Brush off dirt or dust with a damp cloth or soft brush.
  • Apply an exotic leather conditioner in several thin layers.
  • Apply a neutral or matching cream-based polish and buff with a soft cloth.
  • Apply a non-silicone water and stain protector.
NOTE: On snakeskin, always go with the grain of the scales.

More Helpful Tips

  • Use edge dressing to make outsoles and heels look new.
  • Let boots dry at room temperature. Never dry over direct heat.
  • Do not store in cold or damp places. Boots can mildew.
  • Use boot trees to help maintain boot’s shape.

Caring For Smooth Oil Finished Leathers

  • Apply a leather conditioner.
  • Apply a non-silicone water and stain protector.

With proper wear and care, your Ferrini boots can bring you years of use and comfort.
